Spa etiquette – your FAQs answered

At the Spa we love chatting with you. And some questions come up a lot, so it seemed a good idea to pop the answers down for you if you’re thinking of coming for a treatment. We’ll get to know you better when you come in and one of our friendly therapists does your lifestyle consultation with you but for now, hello!

With tints, waxes and eyelash extensions, do I need a patch test if I have had them at other salons?

In short, yes! As a professional salon, Spa Satori is all about giving a great service and taking our customers’ health seriously. Whilst you may have had similar patch tests with other salons, it is our responsibility to ensure the particular products we use are safe and reaction-free for our customers. So just give us a call on 0161 819 2465 or pop in. We can arrange a time that suits for you to come in, enjoy a brew and keep your skin safe.

There so many treatments available, I’m not sure which would be right for me, can you help?

Of course! We offer a range of beauty and wellbeing treatments so to get the results you want the best thing to do is book in for a consultation. We’ll take time out with you to understand your needs, lifestyle, skin type and can even do a patch test whilst we’re there. That way you can effectively plan the treatments most suitable for you to look and feel your best.

Do you treat men?

This is one of the top questions we get asked at the Spa. We absolutely welcome gents who want to look and feel good. When you’ve invested in a fantastic suit, you don’t want your hands to let your professional look down. After a hard day, what better way to relax than with a full body massage? Or maybe you’re going to a wedding for the first time with your partner and want to make a great impression? Whatever the occasion, men are welcome at Spa Satori. Check how Gordo from Manchester Confidential loved his massage, facial, pedicure and manicure at Spa Satori.

I’ve heard colonics have amazing health benefits, but I’m also nervous, can you help?

Colonic hydrotherapy is a brilliant way to kick start and maintain your gut’s health in a relaxing and pampering experience. You can find out more about the process from a vloggers experience of having a colonic at Spa Satori. And you’re welcome to discuss any questions in a consultation, please don’t feel embarrassed.

How long does hair need to be for a wax?

We recommend hair to have 1cm regrowth before a wax for best results. Wax treatments are available for intimate waxing for women and men, with the added benefit of being able to grab hairs as short as 1mm. If in doubt, any of our experienced therapists can advise in a consultation or over the phone. We use Ashmira Botanica wax which works at a lower temperature than traditional hot wax and causes less irritation to sensitive skin.

How do I book in for a treatment?

Choose the best way for you! You can quickly and easily:

Booking online? If you know what treatment and therapist you want, our app lets you choose who you want to book your appointment with. And all our special offers each month are also available when you book through our website our using the apps  – iPhone app from Spa Satori or the Spa Satori android app.

Can I buy treatments as a gift?

The gift of wellbeing has got to be up there as a top present! We have different Spa Satori offers every month, these make great gifts and involve an element of choice.

What are your opening hours?

Spa Satori is open 7 days a week, from 9am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am – 5pm on Sunday. Well, we are based in Manchester’s vibrant Northern Quarter where there’s always something happening – we like to be the oasis of calm amongst it all.

What time should I arrive?

You are welcome to come and relax at the spa before your treatment so you are not rushed and can begin your me time treat. Just having that extra 10 minutes to get a drink and settle in helps gets that time out you deserve started.

If it’s your first tint or wax with Spa Satori you’ll come into the spa to have a patch test ahead of the treatment. This is to check your skin’s reaction to the products used, ensuring your treatment runs smoothly.

How do I find Spa Satori?

We are easily accessible in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter at 112 High Street, M4 1HQ. Some landmarks to look out for on the way include our local bar Bluu, which we are up the road from, as well as the Cat Café opposite.

Can I bring my baby or older child along to my appointment?

Your safety and your child’s safety is so important to us. We can’t allow children of any age (under 16) in the treatment rooms because your therapist needs to focus on you and our insurance does not allow this. The Spa is not child-proofed so they can’t be left in our waiting area. We are breast feeding friendly and are happy for you to use our waiting area before or after your treatment to feed your baby. Another adult is welcome to stay in the waiting area to look after your child. Please be considerate of other clients’ needs to relax and chill before/after their treatment and therapists’ speaking to clients on the phone – so for example if your child was noisy we would ask that you take them for a wander:) or here are some child-friendly attractions in Manchester you could explore!

If you need childcare so you can come in for a treatment you could try the Bubble childcare app. We are not affiliated with Bubble and your children remain your responsibility at all times. Thankyou for your understanding.
